During the Covid-19 emergency, the main problems in Colombia were hunger and evictions. The health emergency revealed a situation of extreme poverty in which most of the population lives. Most Colombian workers live in an informal economy, without health care, and earn the bare minimum so as not to starve. With the arrival of the pandemic, they found themselves completely deprived of means.

Hundreds of Venezuelan migrants ended up living on the street. Indigenous community of the Emberà Katio, has occupied some empty buildings to raise awareness of their situation. People hung red rags on the windows to signal hunger. As human rights organizations began to tackle the emerging mental health problem.
