In 2019 Colombia experienced the most important street movement in its recent history. Started in reaction to a package of neoliberal reforms by Ivan Duque's government, the national strike on November 21th quickly transformed into a movement that occupied and blocked the capital Bogota and the main cities of the country for two months. Calling for an end to violence against social leaders, respect for the human rights os Indigenous people, Afro descendants and women. Made up of various moment, the movement experienced open clashes against the police, artistic events, cacerolazos and labor strikes. Asking for the construction of a more equally country. After the stop due to coronavirus, in September 2020 the demonstrations restart with more anger and violence. The 9th September 14 people lost their live during the clashes.
