After the signing of the peace agreements in 2016, the Colombian state was not able to arrive first in many rural regions until then occupied by the FARC. The different paramilitary groups, attracted by natural resources and illegal cultivations, have started a veritable massacre of human rights defenders, who opposed their economical projects. 54 people, defenders of environmental rights, have already died since the beginning of 2019.
